Traveled in May 2022.

To say the trip was a success would be an understatement.  One of the best things about the trip was not having to worry about where to be and when to be there as we smoothly moved through the four countries and from bush camp to bush camp, it made the trip so easy and significantly reduced potential stress.

Your choice of providers was excellent as both ABC and andBeyond were fantastic.

The staff, the accommodations and the food (wow, the food!) were excellent and we both would have no problems recommending either of those providers to our friends.

The food was the real surprise, both in the bush camps as well as in SA, but the bush camps in particular given how remote they were.  The food presentation was amazing but the quality and the flavours were outstanding.

I would put their meals up against any meal I have had anywhere in Canada.

Of course the wine was pretty damn good as well.  Both “hotels” in Cape Town and Franschhoek were great choices though I don’t believe I have ever known a bed & breakfast (Camissa House) to be all inclusive including alcohol.  They were great there to the extent that after our foody tour day when we had no desire to have dinner, they put together a complimentary charcuterie board for us later in the evening.  I would have no issue recommending them to others.  It was also quite convenient for me that I could go for a hike up Table Mountain right out the door, which I did twice.

Both of us wished we had one additional day at Thorntree to decompress after 7 days of early mornings and busy days. I guess we will now just have to plan for another trip there to do that and then maybe check out the Kruger bush camps!

Thank you Karen (& Danni) for putting together a memorable trip and thank you Mark for working with ABC to support the BC Cancer Foundation.
